Nice boots #2

Seems that if you're a girl and you trackstand you MUST wear boots!
Boys can continue to use skate shoes :-)

Tom and Ted (and Marco) in London

My friend Marco "Pepperoni" was tricking at the local polo court in London when Tom (riding the new Scissor frame) and Ted with the Fixedgear London Crew arrived.
Tom style is amazing and very BMX styled, he bunnyhops like 80 cm with ease ... in the same time all the nice spots in Torino are covered with 30 cm of snow and the temperature is around 0°C :-(
But ... how wide are Tom's bars??

Small BMX ratios

Seems that in the freestyle community there's some interest in small BMX ratio, that means really small cogs and rings.
This is the new 12t cog from Milwaukee Bikes. You're going to need a 31t ring to have something like a 42:16 ratio, that means that you also need different (BMX?) cranks to run such a small rings.

Charge Scissor

So finally the first REAL freestyle frame.
It's easy, just take two of the best riders in the world, Tom Lamarche and Super Ted, and ask the what they really want and built it.
This is the result; a real 700c fork of the correct lenght designed for barspins and big impact and a frame with the right geo.

Prolly on barspin/freestyle forks

Prolly wrote a nice review of baspin/freestyle forks on his blog. http://prollyisnotprobably.com/2009/01/forks.php
The first bad new is that the supersexy BMW Gangsta forks is officially NOT designed for tricks, so if you want to go hard on this bike you need a different and beefy fork.
Second bad new is that every single dirt jump fork like the Black Market, Charge or DMR and even the new Volume is too long and if you put them on your track frame the geometry is going to be too slack/relaxed.
Third bad new is that the only good forks seems to be the new MKE and Charge but they're not avaiable, we have to wait.
For me the result is: if you want to barspin on a track frame with trackish geo the only option is to put a 650c front wheel.

My friends Thomas and Jack on TV

Thomas & Jack su Rai3 Tre - Trebisonda from Roberto Bubz on Vimeo.

Thomas and Jack, MDE sponsored freeriders and dirt jumpers, doing stoopid tricks on MTBs live on RAI national TV, I know them and they're much better than that.
